these are some links to things that i’ve found that i think more people should look at. the stuff on this page isn’t in any particular order, but i’m trying to keep some sort of coherence between nearby items so like games will be next to games, etc. i’ll try my best to keep it up to date so there are no dead links or links to inactive sites, but no promises :)
i’m always interested in finding new things for this list so if you have any suggestions please reach out :3

just the source for this website, pretty self explanatory. this is the only one of these links that will link to something i’ve made, i just couldn’t think of a better place to put it.

a non-profit print & pdf magazine. it’s a great collaborative source of community knowledge. just read it. it’s a project started by dirty bird so you know it’s good.
-
tildeverse [link]
a loose group of community public unix systems (aka pubnixes). it’s an extremely cool community of people who like to use old technology to make art, talk, or just create emotionally compelling things. i recommend tilde.town as a specific community to look at as an example, i personally think it’s the most interesting.
-

an infinite grid of text that anyone can edit. you can also make custom worlds so you only do it with friends or a specific community. it’s a bit like a text based r/place.
-

a text based incremental game where you evolve a creature from primordial ooze all the way to space faring empire. then you do it again. and again. it’s extremely in depth and long, i’ve been playing it on and off for like 2 years and still don’t feel done with it.

a page that has been collecting random useless websites since 2012! it brings you to a random one every time you click the button, and a lot of them are just kinda dumb fun.

-
textfiles.com [link]
an archive of text (ascii) files from the 1980s and 1990s. an extremely interesting look into the time period, and there are tons of different things you can read on pretty much any topic you want.

0x40 [link]
a mostly complete html+css recreation of the old 0x40 hues flash. in the default state it loops through a bunch of monochrome images of anime girls and colors synced to songs. but you can, with effort, make some pretty cool stuff with the editor, and there’s lots of like packs out there made for the old flash that still work. it’s kinda interesting more than fun, but i think it’s cool. i’m sure with it being heavily influenced by the 4chan anime community there are some problematic packs and stuff out there but i haven’t explored much so i haven’t found them.
